Global Synergistic Living (GSL) was born with the vision and hope of sharing wisdom and experience from the commonality within all our lives.

Founders Gary Seidler and Sheri Laine collectively have over eight decades of experience in the Integrative Health, Wellness, Addiction/Recovery, Mental Health and Self-Help fields. Their journey comes with invaluable network connections to other professionals who share their knowledge and experience, passion and commitment, and genuine desire to give back.

GSL provides information and engages in thought-provoking conversations, while building a community of learning and wholeness for all individuals. Our aim is for wholeness in mind, body and spirit while creating awareness and understanding of our shared world.

GARY SEIDLER

Gary Seidler was born in Shanghai, raised in England, emigrated to Canada, and became a naturalized citizen of the US. In 1976, Gary co-founded Health Communications (HCI Books) and USJournal of Drug and Alcohol Dependence (later US Journal Training, (USJT)). Named the #1 Self Help Publisher by Publishers Weekly, HCI Books published several groundbreaking titles on the impact of addictions and the family, including — Adult Children of Alcoholics and Healing the Shame that Binds You. Behavioral health, self-help, and inspiration. HCI published the first 100+ titles in the phenomenal series, Chicken Soup for the Soul.

FOR OVER THREE DECADES UNDER GARY’S STEWARDSHIP, USJT PRODUCED TRAINING CONFERENCES THROUGHOUT THE US, CANADA, AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS IN THE ADDICTIONS AND MENTAL HEALTH FIELDS. USJT WAS CERTIFIED BY NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL BOARDS AS A CONTINUING EDUCATION PROVIDER.

Gary co-founded and served as Executive Editor of several magazines, including COUNSELOR: The Magazine for Addiction Professionals, The US Journal of Drug and Alcohol Dependence (newspaper), FOCUS on Family and Chemical Dependency, CHANGES Magazine for Adult Children, and ADOLESCENCE Magazine.

Gary co-authored Chicken Soup for the Horse Lovers Soul (ital) and Chicken Soup for the Recovering Soul (ital) and was the Executive Producer of The Process (ital) a training film on psychodrama, a feature talking about the film the process with training.

Before emigrating from Canada, Gary was a newspaper reporter in the Toronto area before joining the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Research Foundation of Ontario, where he launched The Journal of the Addiction Research Foundation.

Gary moved from Florida to California in 1976. He has served on several not-for-profit boards and funded Camp Hope, a five-year project providing an experiential camping experience for at-risk inner-city kids.

Sheri Laine is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Recovery Specialist, combining her expertise in Acupuncture, communications hypnotherapy, nutrition, and Chinese herbology for a uniquely effective and meaningful approach to wellness.

Sheri’s focus is lifestyle medicine and cognitive enrichment through Oriental medical teachings. As a clinician, Sheri guides individuals, athletes and all family members who are striving to achieve balance, fitness, and happiness through healthy living choices, amplifying her expertise with lifestyle coaching.

An author, educator and public speaker, Sheri’s books The EnerQi Connection and Living the EnerQi Connection; Manifesting Positive Change, outline a doable, fully integrative lifestyle of wellness, happiness, vitality, and inner equilibrium.
